The Season of Advent – “Come and Listen”
Advent invites us to come closer to the One who has already drawn near. When we sit with Scripture, we are not coming to a task, we are coming to a Person. Jesus still speaks through His Word, and His Spirit still stirs our hearts just as He did for the disciples on the road to Emmaus. As we quiet the noise around us, we make space to notice His presence and hear His voice. This season becomes a gentle reminder that God has always been inviting His people to listen. When we slow down and allow His Word to lead us, we find that He meets us with guidance, comfort, correction, and grace. Advent becomes a time of renewed closeness, where our hearts grow more tender and our eyes become more aware of the Savior who walks with us.
Hope in Grief; Faith in Times of Testing
Even in our deepest grief, the Lord calls us to lift our eyes from fear and fix them on Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of our faith, the One who holds us steady when everything else feels unsteady. Like Ruth, we are invited to trust God’s promises even when the outcome is unseen. In Him, we find courage, comfort, and hope that does not fade.
Back to School: Centered, Not Scattered
The back-to-school season can feel like a whirlwind of schedules, supply lists, and expectations. But God never intended for our days to be ruled by chaos. He calls us to live centered in Him, not scattered by the world. As Psalm 90:12 reminds us, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
When we slow down and make room for His presence, we find His peace guiding us through the unknowns. Whether it’s praying together for two minutes before school, choosing a memory verse for the week, or creating a family rhythm of rest, these small choices anchor us in God’s greater story. Let’s begin this school year walking in His peace, not the world’s pressure.
One Flesh, One Faith: A Devotional for Husbands and Wives
Marriage is not just a human agreement. It is a spiritual covenant, a holy partnership designed by God to reflect His devotion to His people. The phrase "one flesh" found in Genesis 2:24 is more than poetic language. It is a declaration of unity–physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
The Heart of a Mother: Seen, Called, and Carried by God
Holy Saturday may feel silent, but God is never still. In the waiting, He is working. Resurrection is coming.
While You Wait: Trusting God in the In-Between
Holy Saturday may feel silent, but God is never still. In the waiting, He is working. Resurrection is coming.
Eschet Chayil – Woman of Valor
Eschet Chayil"—a Woman of Valor—is not about perfection, but about faith, strength, and purpose. Proverbs 31 is not a checklist of impossible expectations but a declaration of possibility. A woman of valor is not weak, passive, or limited—her hope is unending, her work is fruitful, and her faith is steadfast. She was Ruth. She is me. She can be you. Step into the truth that God has already called you a Woman of Valor!
Love in Action: Reflecting Christ’s Love
Love is more than a feeling—it’s an action. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, our enemies, and above all, to love God with our whole heart (John 15:12, Matthew 22:37-39). This kind of love, known as covenantal love, goes beyond emotion—it is a commitment, a choice to reflect Christ in the way we live.
Ruth exemplified this love through her loyalty, sacrifice, and faith, choosing to stay with Naomi despite uncertainty. Her selfless love foreshadowed the greatest act of love—Jesus giving His life for us.
Just like Ruth, we are called to live out love in action—in our words, choices, and daily interactions. Who in your life needs to see the love of Christ today?
