Weekly Prayer: God Is Our Refuge

Scripture:
“God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.”
Psalm 46:5

Weekly Prayer Reflection:
This month has been heavy with sorrow and grief. The heartbreaking murder of Iryna Zarutska, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and the remembrance of 9/11 weigh deeply on our hearts. Tragedy can shake us, yet God’s Word remains steady, faithful, and true. Even in the face of great evil, we must choose to believe in His goodness, His presence, and His promises. Psalm 46 reminds us that God is with us, and we will not be moved. His help will come, just as surely as the dawn breaks each morning. This truth is not only for our own hearts but also for the families and loved ones suffering now.

Weekly Prayer:
Father, in times of grief, we thank You for being our refuge. Thank You for understanding our tears and for being close to the brokenhearted. Be near now. Make Your presence tangible in the Zarutska and Kirk households, and in our homes as well. Strengthen us, comfort us, and lift our eyes to You. May the hope of Heaven be ours forever. Amen.

Reflection Questions:

  1. Where in your life do you need to stand firm and believe in God’s goodness, even when circumstances seem overwhelming?

  2. How can you extend God’s comfort to others who are grieving right now?

  3. What Scriptures bring you hope when you feel weighed down by sorrow?
